*This might be a good time to mention that Oregon is a non-smoking state. that is to say that you cannot smoke in bars, hotels, or public places (you can smoke 10 feet out the door, though).

Hip, cool, all night rockin' place to be, and you dont need to sleep at night: Jupiter Hotel

Invites are in the mail!

Yes, it only took me 5 months to make another post...imagine if I started to twitter. Anyway, most of the invites are going to be mailed out over the next couple of days, and I'm going to be posting some hotel information for the out-of-towners on this site this week. Please feel free to contact us if you have any questions or need to plan a Pacific NW getaway while you stay. There are endless possiblities, as the old Portland cliche goes...you are an hour away from the ocean, the mountains, or the desert. -Rex

Save the Date

Hey everyone, I've finally sat down to type up an entry to get the word out about our wedding plans. SAVE THE DATE - Saturday, September 12, 2009. Yes, this could be considered "short notice" for a wedding, but we hope that you can come out and celebrate what will be our 5th anniversary together. Juli and I met on 9/11/04 after each of us posted a profile on the Portland Mercury "Love Lab," a local online dating site. No, not the sister-site "Lust Lab" for the more promiscuous types (not that there is anything wrong with that). After our first date it was quite apparent we were a perfect match, and just three months later while spending a vacation with friends Brian & JJ Baumann and Rich Matkins in Puerta Vallarta, I proposed to Juli on the beach while the New Year fireworks were cracking away in the sky. That is the long and short of it, and now we're planning a party to tie the proverbial knot. Neither of us are interested in a 'traditional wedding,' so do not expect to see any long white gowns or black ties. Our party location was a speakeasy back in the 1920's, and we may dress to fit the same style...but more to come on that. As for now, please consider coming out to celebrate!
